China is the world's ceramic manufacturing center and a major ceramic producing country, ranking first in the world in annual output and export volume. Ceramic products are also one of China's main export products for earning foreign exchange, with daily-use ceramics accounting for 70% of the global market and decorative art porcelain accounting for 65%. The development trend of the ceramic industry indicates that the main business income of large-scale ceramic enterprises in China has a stable compound annual growth rate of around 16%. The top three regions in terms of main business income are Jiangxi, Guangdong, and Shandong. In terms of market demand, Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Asia are the main ceramic demand regions. China's ceramic export market is mainly concentrated in the United States, Japan, South Korea, and the European Union.

　　In 2019, there were 1435 large-scale architectural ceramic enterprises in China, with an output value of 383.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.43%; in 2019, China's daily-use ceramic output reached 31 billion pieces, with an output value of 96 billion yuan. The compound annual growth rate was 18.76%; in 2019, the industrial output value of art ceramics in China was about 18 billion yuan. The export of daily-use ceramics, building ceramics, sanitary ceramics, and art ceramics products also showed a positive trend. It is estimated that the output value of ceramic products in China will reach 1.1 trillion yuan in 2020.

　　In 2019, China exported a total of US$19.163 billion worth of ceramic products, a year-on-year increase of 14.43%. Among them, the export of daily-use ceramics was US$2.714 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 1.03%; the export of art ceramics was US$2.928 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 6.97%; the export of building ceramics was US$8.488 billion, a year-on-year increase of 26.60%; the export of sanitary ceramics was US$1.988 billion, a year-on-year increase of 113.01%; and the export of other ceramics was US$3.045 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 5.34%.

　　The development trend of the ceramic industry indicates that in the face of increasingly strong international trade barriers, China's ceramic exports have maintained steady growth. This is partly due to domestic ceramic enterprises actively adjusting their product structure and improving product quality and grade, and partly due to the rise of new international markets, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America. With the rapid development of emerging economies, the demand for ceramic products has become stronger, bringing new profit growth opportunities for China's ceramic exports.

 4、In various production processes, the focus and direction of development include precise control of raw material processing, microwave slurry casting, lead-free and cadmium-free leaching production technology, and in-glaze color technology.

 5、In terms of new product R&D, high-tech and multi-functional ceramics, such as heat-resistant ceramics, antibacterial ceramics, environmentally friendly ceramics, and aerospace ceramics, are experiencing rapid market growth. At the same time, the development of application materials such as nanomaterials and fine chemical materials will also promote the development of high-tech ceramics.
